Quartz Worktop Care & Maintenance
🧼 Daily Cleaning
-
Wipe with warm water and mild dish soap using a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge.
-
Dry with a microfiber cloth to prevent streaks.
-
Clean spills promptly, especially wine, coffee, tea, fruit juices, and sauces.
🚫 What to Avoid
-
No harsh chemicals: bleach, oven cleaner, drain unblocker, nail polish remover, or strong solvents.
-
No abrasive pads or powders: they can dull the surface.
-
Avoid constant direct sunlight: can cause discolouration over time.
🔪 Protection Tips
-
Use chopping boards: Quartz is scratch-resistant, but not scratch-proof.
-
Always use trivets or heat mats: Quartz is not as heat-resistant as granite. Hot pans or trays can cause burns, cracks, or discolouration.
-
Don’t sit or stand on the surface: Pressure on unsupported areas may cause cracks.
🧽 Stain & Mark Removal
-
Everyday stains: Warm, soapy water.
-
Stubborn marks: Non-abrasive cream cleaner or a paste of baking soda + water. Leave briefly, then wipe.
-
Dried residue (like gum, paint, or food): Gently scrape with a plastic scraper, then clean as normal.
🛡️ Sealing
-
Unlike granite, quartz does not need sealing – it’s non-porous.
With proper care, your quartz worktop will remain beautiful and functional for many years. Just clean it regularly, avoid harsh chemicals, and protect it from high heat and sharp objects, and it should stay in great condition!
